When Apple announced the iOS 18 software update during the WWDC opening keynote on June 10, the company immediately released the first developer beta. Here’s when we expect that the second beta will be released, too.
The first iOS 18 beta has been in the hands of developers for a little while now and Apple has already confirmed that it intends to open a public beta program in July, too. That will likely coincide with the third developer beta release, but the second one could be a big update in terms of fixing bugs that have been found in that first release.
In terms of when we should expect that second beta, Apple often releases it two weeks after the first is made available. However, it also isn’t unheard of for Apple to wait an additional week depending on what is being worked on within Apple Park. With that in mind, Monday June 24, or Monday July 1st, are the likely release dates for Apple’s iOS 18 developer beta 2.
Beyond the betas Apple is expected to release iOS 18 final version to the public this September after a months-long beta process. That release will also likely be timed to come just days before the release of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, too.
The biggest part of iOS 18 will be Apple Intelligence, but not all of the features are likely to be ready by September and the AI capabilities aren’t even available in the current beta, either. It’s unclear when we can expect Apple Intelligence to be added to the betas that are released to developers and members of the public.
