How To Use iOS 18 Game Mode On iPhone

Apple’s iOS 18 brings with it a number of new features that improve the iPhone-using experience across the board. One of those improvements is a new Game Mode similar to that of the Mac, and here’s how you can use it.

The iOS 18 Game Mode is designed to improve the gaming experience for people who want to play the latest titles on their iPhones.

It reduces background processes and activity to give the game full access to the iPhone’s resources while also reducing the audio latency for those who own AirPods Pro 2.

The Game Mode also enables Personalized Spatial Audio in games when using AirPods 3, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max. Finally, Bluetooth latency is also reduced for game controllers.

In terms of enabling the feature, here’s what you need to do:

Step 1: Launch the game that you want to play.

Step 2: You should automatically see Game Mode enabled with a banner appearing at the top of the screen. You can disable Game Mode by tapping the pop-up alert.

You of course need to have iOS 18 installed for this to work and that update will be released to the public this coming fall, likely in September. The release is expected to coincide with the launch of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro devices towards the middle of the month.
